Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how important the role of the working environment to motivate employees in the work.
This study was conducted by: 1) interview: collection of data through 8 persons who are responsible for product department, by asking questions and handed out questionnaires that match the topics discussed. 2) observation: that the writer came to location and directly observed the object under the study, so the accuracy of the data could be justified.
It can be concluded that some employees are not motivated by the working environment in Rich Palace Hotel but most employees remain motivated even though there are some flaws in the kitchen of Rich Palace Hotel. Physical working environment as less spacious kitchen space and incomplete equipment do not reduce employee motivation. In non-physical working environment, relationships
between employees are harmonious and they help each other even though there is jealousy but it does not make the employees are not motivated to work.
