Abstract

Utilization of information technology in the process of implementing computer-based examinations at SMPN 4 Surabaya, allowing participants to take exams without using paper as a means of testing. But using a computer connected to the internet. Computers that are connected to the internet can be grouped into two types, namely service provider computers (servers) and service user computers (clients). On the server computer installed web server software, database, and other internet services that can be accessed from client computers. Various facilities can be obtained from this web-based evaluation /test. With this system, the implementation of competency tests can be interactive, interesting and safe. The implementation of competency tests can be carried out from various regions that are geographically separated, so that the administration of the competency test implementers does not have to carry exam questions and other risks.
